Custom Afita Baby Blanket, Rag Quilt or Smooth Quilted, Minky and Flannel, 30 x 40

Thirty inches by forty, which is the size that works for tummy time, doubles as a play mat, and still folds into a diaper bag. Big enough to be useful, small enough to actually get carried around.

THE FABRIC

Minky, flannel and chenille together. The minky is the plush, almost velvet side you can see in the photographs. The flannel gives it enough weight to stay where you put it instead of sliding off a lap.

THE TWO FINISHES

The same blanket is made two ways, and the difference is entirely in the seams.

Rag quilt: the seams are sewn and then cut along the outside, which is what gives a rag quilt its fringed edges. They open up a little more with every wash, so this is one of the few baby things that looks better after a year than it did new.

Smooth quilted: the seams stay flat and the whole blanket is finished with a scalloped stitched edge. The back is the same patchwork without the character panels, so it works either way up. This is the one to pick if you want a quilted blanket rather than a ragged one, or if you would rather not have loose edges to wash around.

WHAT YOU CHOOSE

Finish: rag quilt or smooth quilted, chosen above. Both are the same size and the same price.
Characters: any of the twelve Afita characters, and you can mix several across the quilt rather than picking just one. That is why this is taken in the order notes rather than a dropdown.
Color theme: soft pastels, brighter accents, or gender neutral if the baby has not arrived yet.
Personalized square: a name, a date or a short phrase. A verse or a short saying if you want one, and we can send options.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Every quilt is cut and sewn to order, so allow one to three weeks. Quilted work is the slowest thing we make and it is not something we can rush without it showing.

Because each one is made for a specific person, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on it. If yours arrives damaged, message us and we will sort it out.
